Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and physically fit Serviceperson to join our team at Wellington Water. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing utilities assets, ensuring the diagnosis and resolution of operational failures, and completing planned maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintaining and repairing utilities assets
  • Ensuring the diagnosis and resolution of operational failures
  • Completing planned maintenance tasks
  • Communicating with internal and external customers to deliver a high level of service

Requirements

  • Enrolled in and actively working towards the New Zealand Certificate in Infrastructure Works Level 3 (Stormwater and Wastewater Pipeline Construction and Maintenance) or New Zealand Certificate in Infrastructure Works Level 3 (Drinking Water Pipeline Construction and Maintenance)
  • Driving License Class 1 and 2 (HT Full)
  • Understanding of the operation of water, stormwater, and wastewater pump stations
  • Experience working independently on basic repairs across utilities assets
  • Physically fit to perform heavy manual labour
  • Able to assist effectively on more complex jobs under supervision and guidance
