We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Food Supervisor to join our team at Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading our dietary services team, ensuring our food safety programme is followed, and providing excellent communication and leadership skills.

About the Team/Service

Our Tokoroa dietary service manages the busy Tokoroa hospital café and supplies meals for the Meals on Wheels service for our community. We pride ourselves on our collaborative relationships with community organisations, including the South Waikato Pacific Island Community NGO and the Raukawa Charitable Trust.

About Tokoroa

Tokoroa is ideally located as a gateway to the Central North Island's natural beauty, offering a unique blend of outdoor recreation and rich Māori heritage. The town is surrounded by lush bush walks, serene lakes, and scenic reserves, perfect for hiking, fishing, and boating.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the dietary services team to ensure compliance with food safety policies and procedures.
  • Motivate the team to achieve exceptional results through excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ensure food production according to menu and budget constraints.
  • Provide strong time management, communication, and organisational skills to lead day-to-day operations.

About You

  • You will have demonstrated food safety qualifications – NZQA 2066 or higher.
  • You will have experience in a food service environment and previous experience in similar roles would be an advantage.
  • You will have computer literacy and be able to work with others to seek solutions to problems as they arise.
