About the Role
The New Zealand Government's National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as an EIS Developer.
This role is part of the Enterprise Information Security Group (EISG) within the NCSC, responsible for managing and reducing risk within the information security enterprise of the New Zealand Intelligence Community.
As an EIS Developer, you will be an expert in system engineering, specialising in SOC tools and infrastructure, and working with a small team to build, maintain, and enhance EISG infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and deploy secure systems and solutions to protect against cyber threats
  • Deliver operational results through the development and implementation of EISG projects and initiatives
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and partners to ensure effective communication and collaboration
  • Develop and maintain documentation of system designs, architectures, and procedures to ensure transparency and accountability
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement cybersecurity policies and guidelines
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience working as a cyber-incident responder or SOC analyst
  • Strong understanding of operating systems (Unix/Linux and Windows)
  • Experience with cloud and on-prem security tools (security monitoring, log analysis & forensic tools)
  • Linux and Windows administration experience
  • Cloud platform experience (e.g. Azure, AWS)
  • DevOps processes and tools experience (e.g. Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, Git)
  • Intermediate to senior level understanding of at least two common languages (e.g. Python, Java, C, C++, C# etc.)
