About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified and registered Housing Social Worker to deliver a professional, empathetic, and effective service to people and families needing long-term sustainable accommodation. Key responsibilities include practicing social work frameworks, managing cases, referring clients to internal and external services, and ensuring positive outcomes. As a successful candidate, you will demonstrate acceptance, inclusion, and genuine interest in people, validating their story and aspirations. You will also be responsible for promptly recording client interactions and case notes, connecting people to Salvation Army services that enhance their current circumstances, and supporting them to find a home and neighbourhood in which they will build the future of Aotearoa.
Key Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you must have a proven track record of relevant Social Work experience, hold a recognised Social Work Degree Qualification or equivalent, and be fully registered with the Social Work Registration Board. You should also be able to understand and relate to people from diverse backgrounds and who are experiencing hardship, trauma, and/or mental unwellness. Strong relationship building skills, computer literacy, and the ability to work proactively, problem solve, and meet multiple demands are essential. Experience in leadership roles and managing teams or equivalent is also desirable.
