As a Principal Ecologist at SLR Consulting, you'll provide inspirational leadership to our Ecology & Marine Science team in Wellington. Key focuses include developing senior employees, business development, and technical excellence to deliver excellent work to clients.

Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Bringing established networks and proven ability to win work
  2. Delivering clear, precise reports
  3. Undertaking fieldwork activities and resourcing teams on projects
  4. Developing effective relationships with clients and internal team members
  5. Working in multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects across various sectors

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • A degree in Ecology, Marine Science, or a related field
  • Demonstrated consulting experience in Ecology or Marine Science with 12-15+ years of expertise
  • Demonstrated experience winning, leading, and managing projects
  • Experience in preparing impact assessments and environmental risk assessments
  • Working knowledge of New Zealand environmental legislation and policies, standards, and guidelines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • New Zealand Citizenship or rights to work in New Zealand
  • An excellent driving history and current driver's license
