About the Role: As a Rehabilitation Specialist with Ara Poutama Aotearoa, you will work closely with individuals in our care and their families to address criminogenic behaviors and reduce reoffending. Utilizing principles of manaaki, kaitiaki, wairua, rangatira, and whanau, you will manage cases and prepare reports for the Courts and New Zealand Parole Board.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to public safety by viewing this through the lens of manaaki, positive relationships, and the uplifting of wellbeing of people in our care
- Focus on the wellbeing of the person who has come into our care and management, helping to reduce the chances of them returning to the justice system
- Treat those in our care and management with respect, upholding their mana and dignity
- Lead the rehabilitation and reintegration of prisoners using a person-centric approach
About You: To succeed in this role, you will need to demonstrate a range of skills and qualifications, including proven knowledge and experience in case management, rehabilitation, and reintegration-related disciplines and practices. Strong report writing and planning and organizing skills are also essential, as is the ability to exercise sound professional judgement and prioritize tasks effectively.
