The Role

\

As Team Manager - Built Environment and Energy Transition, you will be responsible for leading a team of analysts in providing high-quality advice on emissions budgets, policies to reduce emissions, national risk assessments, monitoring emissions reduction and climate adaptation plans. This involves building a culture of collaboration, inclusiveness, challenge, and debate in the team and within the Commission.

Your Skills and Qualifications

  • \
  • Successful record of effectively managing people, including leading through change.\
  • In-depth experience of management issues (people, resources, systems, and processes), including managing work and people on projects involving collaboration across teams and business groups.\
  • Strong knowledge and experience of a range of research, evidence, and analytical methods, including emerging and innovative approaches and frameworks.\
  • Sound judgement and awareness of the context within which advice is formulated and communicated.\
  • Strong logic and reasoning skills to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions.\
  • Highly developed communication skills, both oral and written.\
  • Experience working in energy, infrastructure, the built environment, and/or transport policy.\
  • Strong understanding of the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, Te Ao Maori and experience engaging with Iwi/Maori.\
  • An understanding of government processes, systems, and tools.\
  • A relevant tertiary qualification and post-graduate, or equivalent, experience.\
