Job Description
This is an exceptional opportunity to lead the establishment of the Government Property Office, a centre of expertise that will drive efficiencies and deliver effective property outcomes for MBIE and its government partners. As Strategic Property Director - Government Portfolio, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a long-term strategy for the government's office accommodation portfolio, encompassing circa 1,000,000 sqm of office space and a rental spend of circa $330 million per year across 73 agencies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the establishment of the Government Property Office, embedding a new operating model that fosters innovation and excellence in property management.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for the government's office accommodation portfolio, ensuring optimal use of resources and achieving demonstrable qualitative and quantitative improvements in portfolio performance.
  • Oversee the delivery of full-range property services to MBIE (excluding facilities management), ensuring timely and cost-effective solutions that meet business needs.

  • Strong negotiation and influencing capabilities, with exceptional relationship management abilities and the ability to lead Te Tiriti o Waitangi responsiveness within the context of the Government Property Office.

Salary Range:
$160,000 - $200,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
