Porirua, Wellington, New Zealand Capital & Coast District Health Board Full time

About Capital, Coast and Hutt Valley District

Located centrally in Wellington, we are one of the major employers in the region, with over 6,000 full-time equivalent staff.

We operate three hospitals - Wellington Regional Hospital in Newtown, Hutt Valley Hospital and Kenepuru Hospital in Porirua - as well as the Kāpiti Health Centre at Paraparaumu.

We work collaboratively with oncology, neurosurgery, plastic surgery, paediatric and neurosurgery services to provide a wide range of services to the greater Wellington region and tertiary level care for the wider region.

Our team consists of ten general and subspecialist surgeons, providing a diverse range of services including general otolaryngology, rhinology and anterior skull base surgery, otology, lateral skull base and acoustic neuroma surgery, cochlear implantation, paediatric otolaryngology and head and neck surgery.

We are currently recruiting for General Otolaryngologists to cover sabbatical leave, with opportunities to join our sub-regional ENT service.

The successful applicants will be highly motivated team players, enjoying a very collegial relationship and working closely with our multidisciplinary team.

You will be involved in a range of acute and elective general ORL surgery, with the opportunity to develop your skills in specific areas of interest, particularly in Otology.

In addition to surgical responsibilities, you will also contribute to undergraduate teaching and supervision of registrars in the otolaryngology training rotation.

We value diversity and welcome applications from all people, including all gender identities, ages, ethnicities, sexual orientations, and disability.

To succeed in this role, you must be vocationally registered in Otolaryngology with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) and hold FRACS or an equivalent qualification to enable registration.
