Job Description

We are seeking applications for the position of Senior Technician to provide high-level technical expertise to ensure efficient and effective delivery of various undergraduate laboratory courses.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • A high degree of organisation, including prioritising tasks, meeting deadlines, and working unsupervised
  • Ability to function as a team member
  • Accurate technical skills in preparing, calibrating, and testing solutions and equipment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite of programmes
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to learn new techniques quickly
  • Self-motivated with ability to meet deadlines
  • Experimental troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of PC1 and PC2 operating conditions for microorganisms and plants, PC2 operating conditions for invertebrates and relevant MPI and IBSC standards and experience working with and disposing of GM organisms and uncleared biological products is desirable
