Te Puna Reo o Ritimana is an early childhood centre that offers a unique and immersive learning experience in te reo Māori. Our centre has been based at Richmond Road School since 1985 and operates under the Ministry of Education. We are affiliated with Ngā Puna Reo o Aotearoa and are committed to the growth and revitalisation of te reo Māori.
Job OverviewWe are seeking a professional leader to join our team as a Language and Culture Leader. As a key member of our executive committee, you will provide leadership and guidance to our kaiako and kaimahi. You will have a sound knowledge of te reo Māori and tikanga, and be passionate about its revitalisation. If you thrive in a kaupapa Māori environment and want to contribute to the success of our tamariki, we encourage you to apply.
Key Responsibilities- Provide professional leadership to kaiako and kaimahi on behalf of the executive committee
- Ensure a sound understanding of te reo Māori and tikanga among staff members
- Foster a culture of innovation and creativity in teaching and learning
- Contribute to the development of policies and procedures that support the centre's kaupapa Māori
- A supportive kaupapa Māori environment with a focus on whanaungatanga and manaakitanga
- Flexibility of hours
- Extended Pay Parity centre with teacher certification renewal paid for (where applicable)
