About the Team

The Oceanic Systems Team is part of the Air Traffic Services Development (ATSD) unit at Airways New Zealand. The team is responsible for providing safe and reliable Air Traffic Management (ATM) systems to our Service Delivery group. ATSD enhances and fixes problems as well as provides operational support and adaptation.

As the Oceanic Systems Team Leader, you will lead the requirements and acceptance testing for the Oceanic ATS operational systems to optimise system service delivery. You will work closely with your team to find and assess issues with the system and deploy releases into the live operational environment.

You will maintain an overview of current Communication, Navigation & Surveillance (CNS)/Air Traffic Management (ATM) system developments in the international aviation community. This will enable you to anticipate and evaluate enhancements for Airways' Oceanic Control System (OCS) and identify opportunities.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the requirements and acceptance testing for the Oceanic ATS operational systems.
  • Maintain an overview of current CNS/ATM system developments in the international aviation community.
  • Anticipate and evaluate enhancements for Airways' OCS and identify opportunities.
Requirements
  • 5+ years experience in system development in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • A continuous improvement mindset with the ability to identify and implement process and system enhancements.
  • Understanding of risk assessment and financial awareness.
  • Confidence needed to interact with both internal and external customers.
