About Us
Young Workers Resource Centre is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to empowering young people aged 15-35 with the knowledge they need to navigate their employment relationships confidently.
We promote education from a pro-union perspective, leading to proactive behaviors that improve workplace culture, productivity, and overall well-being.
Our Mission
We are on a mission to combat the exploitation of young workers by providing essential resources, guidance and support, as well as educating youth about the importance of union membership.
The Role
This permanent position is responsible for delivering employment relations education to young people at secondary schools, tertiary institutions, and community organisations around the Waikato, Bay of Plenty, and Central North Island.
You will be based in Hamilton and will work closely with our team to develop and deliver engaging workshops and provide guidance and representation to young people.
Requirements
- Cultural humility and an understanding of the purpose of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
- A passion for supporting young people to have positive employment outcomes.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills and an ability to relate to people from diverse backgrounds.
- An ability to connect and communicate with youth in a meaningful and respectful manner.
- Ability to work autonomously, off-site, and with self-management and organisational skills.
