  • To cover a maternity leave from August until December 2025, we have an opening for a Part-Time Teacher of Primary School and Middle School Spanish at our Dover Campus.
  • The appointee will teach a range of Language B (foreign language) classes from Beginner to Intermediate level for Grade 1 to Grade 6.
  • Teaching students between the age range of 6 to 12 requires enthusiasm and experience. The successful candidate should demonstrate that they are an excellent and inspiring practitioner with the drive to continually develop within the profession.
  • A recognized teaching qualification or certification is expected along with a good degree in an area specific to this position.
  • The ideal candidate has a proven record as a successful Spanish teacher at Primary School level.
  • We seek someone who is passionate about working with 6 –12 year olds and understands their unique developmental needs.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Teachers should be willing to contribute positively to the collaborative culture of the Spanish Department and Primary School team.
  • They construct learning experiences that challenge students, support diverse learners in each classroom, and demonstrate a strong commitment to concept-based teaching and learning.
  • Utilizing the UWCSEA Learning Principles as a foundation for effective teaching and learning is essential.
  • Assessments should support ongoing learning and provide timely, relevant, and appropriate feedback to students on formative and summative assessments.
  • Effective classroom management showing an understanding of the academic, social, and emotional dimensions of learning is required.
  • Teachers keep parents informed about the learning of their children and be proactive in communication with parents.

Key Specifications:

  • Reside in Singapore.
  • Be readily available from August 2025.
  • Participate in the five key elements of a UWCSEA education: Academics; Activities; Outdoor Education; Personal and Social Education, and Service.
  • Enthusiastic participation in Professional Learning is expected.
  • A yearly contribution of two sessions per week in each season to Activities and/or Service, or equivalent for a part-time role.
  • Participate enthusiastically in the curricular Outdoor Education experiences relevant to their students and occasionally volunteer for holiday Outdoor Education trips and/or Service trips.
