About the Role
As a Clinical Psychologist in our Older Persons Service, you will play a key part in a multi-disciplinary team environment that prioritizes providing high-quality mental health assessment and care. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working as part of a wider team with strong interpersonal and communication skills, while delivering high-quality psychological treatment in an autonomous role.
Key Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive psychological assessments, formulating, and implementing evidence-informed psychological treatment to individuals over the age of 65 years with a wide range of mental health problems. You will work closely with colleagues, including Clinical Psychologists who have established expertise within this specialist area, to provide comprehensive care to tangata whaiora primarily within the community and also in an inpatient mental health setting.
About the Team
This service caters to individuals over the age of 65 years, consisting of an in-patient unit and a community team servicing a wide geographical area. The team comprises in-patient staff, community mental health nurses, psychiatrists, social workers, psychologists, occupational therapists, and a community support worker.
