About the Role

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking an exceptional Registered Psychologist to join our Child and Adolescent mental health service in Whangarei. This permanent full-time role involves providing high-standard clinical psychology practice and expertise, with a focus on working with children and young people (up to 19 years) who have significant mental health concerns.

About the Service

This team provides acute and community services for children and young people with mental health, alcohol and other drug concerns. Our assessment, therapeutic intervention includes key workers, psychologists, and psychiatry. We prioritize building strong relationships with our clients and their families, grounded in tikanga and te reo Maori principles.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is registered with the NZ Psychologists Board
  • Has a strong understanding of child and adolescent psychopathology and issues
  • Is committed to Tikanga and has a working knowledge of te ao Maori
  • Has experience in projects/initiatives that give effect to Te Tiriti principles and frameworks
