About the Job

This permanent full-time (40 hours a week) position offers an exciting opportunity for a Child and Adolescent Mental Health Clinician to join our dynamic team. As a key member of the Child, Adolescent and Family Access Team, you will provide essential support to young people and their families during times of crisis.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Provide phone triaging of young people in crisis, working closely with family/whanau and external agencies.
  2. Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and interventions for young people in psychiatric crisis, including brief case management if required.
  3. Triage routine referrals into our CAF services, ensuring timely and effective support for young people and their families.

About the Team

You will be part of a small but growing multi-disciplinary team based at Hillmorton Hospital. We value collaboration and teamwork, and you will have opportunities to work closely with colleagues from various backgrounds and disciplines to achieve better health outcomes in our community.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in mental health, with knowledge of general mental health assessment or risk.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and work collaboratively with young people, family/whanau, and other agencies.
  • Current NZ driver's license, as some travel is required for this position.
  • Registration with the Social Work Registration Board.
