Our client is a reputable, employee-owned ground and environmental engineering consultancy with operations throughout New Zealand. They are seeking an experienced Senior/Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join their team.
About the Role
This senior position offers the opportunity to influence, mentor, and grow a high-performing team while working on diverse, complex projects across public and private sectors. As a key member of the organization, you will have a significant impact on project delivery and contribute to the company's ongoing growth and success.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead geotechnical design teams on large-scale projects
* Develop and implement strategic plans to drive business growth and improve operational efficiency
* Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure project deliverables meet expectations
* Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on project management best practices
Requirements
* 10+ years of experience in geotechnical engineering, preferably in a leadership role
* Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status in Geotechnical Engineering
* Strong geotechnical design expertise and experience managing projects from inception to completion
* Proven leadership skills, including team management and relationship-building
* Friendly, team-oriented personality and excellent communication skills
What We Offer
* A competitive salary range of $180,000 - $250,000 per annum, commensurate with experience
* Overtime pay for additional hours worked
