This role offers the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of ākonga and their whānau, by contributing to the development of effective strategies for improving education outcomes through te reo Māori.

As a key member of the Te Pou Ohumahi Mātauranga team, you will work collaboratively with stakeholders to achieve sector-wide views and perspectives, reflecting the needs of ākonga and their whānau.

The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the education sector, policy design, and implementation, as well as strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

About the Role

You will be responsible for developing and implementing effective strategies to support the revitalization of te reo Māori in education settings, working closely with schools, kura, and other education providers.

This role requires the ability to think critically, strategically, and creatively, with a focus on achieving measurable outcomes and making a tangible difference in the lives of ākonga.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence decision-makers.

About You

We are looking for someone who is passionate about education, particularly in relation to te reo Māori, and has a proven track record of driving positive change within complex systems.

The successful candidate should be a strong leader, with the ability to motivate and inspire others, as well as a commitment to public service values, including integrity, respect, and collaboration.

You will also possess a deep understanding of the machinery of government and government operations generally, as well as the ability and willingness to adhere to the Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct.
