We are seeking an experienced Building Surveyor Inspector to join our team in Auckland Council. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building surveying and inspection, with a focus on regulatory compliance and technical expertise.
This role requires a deep understanding of the Building Act, Building Code, and technical aspects of building design and construction standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical advice and contributing to the re-clad process for all consents, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct site inspections to assess compliance with building codes and regulations
- Provide expert advice on complex technical issues and contribute to decision-making processes
- Maintain accurate records of inspections and provide reports as required
Qualifications and Skills:
- NZ Trade Certificate or equivalent related building industry qualification (or related discipline)
- At least 5 years of cumulative experience in a building surveying and inspection-related regulatory environment
- Comprehensive knowledge of building codes, regulations, and legislation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
