The Role
We are currently seeking skilled individuals to fill various positions as Construction and Manufacturing Workers in Christchurch. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for performing tasks in residential, commercial, and industrial construction, or in manufacturing environments using tools and machines either as an individual or as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate hand tools and power tools efficiently
- Clear material from construction or manufacturing sites, including removing debris, unused, and/or hazardous materials
- Use machinery or manufacturing equipment to produce high-quality products
- Move equipment and materials safely and effectively
- Assemble goods and parts, and/or install structures and frameworks
- Maintenance of existing structures and fittings
- Assist lead carpenters, installation technicians, and all other skilled tradesmen with their work whenever necessary
- Assist skilled welders/fabricators in maintaining and operating equipment/machinery safely and efficiently
- Assist painting trade workers in applying paint and other relevant tasks in buildings & structures
- Assist with scaffold erection and dismantling
Requirements
- Be experienced in using hand and power tools
- Be experienced in a manufacturing and/or construction environment
- Be physically fit and capable of heavy duties
- Preferably be legally entitled to drive in New Zealand with reliable transport
