We are seeking a Senior Research Manager to join our team in building Singapore's R&D capabilities in sustainability and energy, covering areas such as:

  • Low-carbon technologies
  • Built environment innovations
  • Circular economy strategies
  • Electrification solutions

You will have the exciting opportunity to contribute to driving new frontiers of scientific development, providing thought leadership, and creating a Singapore ecosystem conducive for new investments and growth. You will work closely with A*STAR research units, as well as other public sector agencies, research performers, and industry players, to develop and implement R&D strategies, build cutting-edge research programmes, and bring them to deployment or commercialisation.

Your role will involve strategic planning, coordination, and collaborations in line with national R&D agenda for sustainability and energy R&D with agencies, research institutes, institutes of higher learning, and industry sectors. You will also be responsible for technology foresighting and masterplanning to optimise R&D investment portfolio and ensure alignment with national priorities. Additionally, you will develop and design R&D programme strategies, convene relevant public agencies, enterprises, and research entities into collaboration programmes, and secure necessary management support and resources for programme execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement R&D strategies to advance sustainability and energy research
  • Coordinate collaborations with public sector agencies, research performers, and industry players
  • Conduct technology foresighting and masterplanning to inform R&D investment decisions
  • Design and execute R&D programme strategies to drive innovation and commercialisation

Requirements

  • Degree or postgraduate degree in engineering or sciences
  • At least 5 years of working experience in business or research roles related to sustainability and energy
  • Able to work independently and as part of a strong team
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to engage internal and external stakeholders
  • Meticulous, excellent problem-solving and analytical skills and able to multi-task
