Job Description Overview
The District Chief Midwife is a senior clinical leadership role based within the district, reporting directly to the Group Director of Operations (GDO) with a dotted professional line to the National Chief Midwife.
Key Requirements
- Registered with the Midwifery Council in New Zealand with a current Midwifery APC.
- At least 5 years relevant clinical leadership experience with evidence of ongoing personal, professional, and leadership development.
- Vulnerable Children's Act (VCA) children's worker cleared.
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.
- Experience in quality improvement projects or initiatives that give effect to Te Tiriti principles and equity-based frameworks, and/or the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches.
