About the Role:
The Waikato District, bordering Auckland and Hamilton, is experiencing high growth and an increasing diversity of road use across the network.
We are seeking a dedicated and driven Transport Manager to lead our roading team in the Service Delivery group and help us meet the challenges ahead.
This role reports to the General Manager Service Delivery and will suit someone who has the drive and desire to move the business in a more strategic direction while maintaining day-to-day management of the roading portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintaining the cost-effective, efficient, and safe operation of the District's roading network
- Working closely with key delivery partners, the Waikato District Roading Alliance, Waka Kotahi (New Zealand Transport Agency), developers, and other contractors
- Leading a successful Roading team and ensuring their health and wellbeing is a primary focus
- Adapting to changing circumstances and questioning the status quo while possessing highly developed interpersonal and relationship skills
