Transportation Operations Manager

The NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to fill the position of Team Leader for our Safety Camera System team. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead a team of Enforcement Officers, play a key part in maintaining compliance with the land transport system, and contribute to a reduction in deaths and serious injuries on New Zealand roads.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of Enforcement Officers in delivering comprehensive advice and education to customers.
- Ensure key performance objectives are met through effective leadership and decision-making.
- Develop and implement strategies to build people capability, including coaching, mentoring, and managing performance development plans.
- Make sound decisions and manage complaints effectively.
- Work under pressure with high resilience and autonomy.
Requirements
- Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of achieving results through people.
- Proven experience in building people capability, including coaching, mentoring, and managing performance development plans.
- Ability to work under pressure with high level of resilience and autonomy.
- Effective and timely problem-solving ability.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Te Ao Maori and willingness to promote tikanga and Te Reo Maori.
- Knowledge of or willingness to gain an understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public service.
