Compliance Officer

Keraplast is a biotechnology company that recovers bioactive keratin proteins from regeneratively farmed New Zealand wool and uses these proteins to develop unique, branded ingredients for the global market. We are seeking an experienced Compliance Officer to join our team and oversee financial management, compliance, and strategic financial planning.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing the IT function within the business, ensuring smooth and efficient operations, and aligning technology strategies with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and laws.
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures.
- Monitor and analyze financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Provide financial insights to support business decisions.
- Manage key stakeholder relationships, including external auditors, banks, and regulatory bodies.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and system enhancements.
- The position has broad accountability for ensuring the smooth delivery of IT services.
We are looking for someone with:
- A degree qualification in Finance/Commerce - CA qualified (ideally).
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in a senior finance role – preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Extensive experience in financial management, investment, insurance, planning, reporting, and staff management at a senior management level, with a proven track record of success.
- Proven people leadership skills with proven capability to work cross-functionally within finance and operations.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate complex financial information easily and effectively.
- The preferred candidate will have experience from an enterprise involved in manufacturing and export.
- Strong expertise in IT, cybersecurity, and proficiency in the Microsoft Suite.
