Paediatric Rehabilitation Therapist

Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Paediatric Rehabilitation Therapist to join our team at Canterbury District Health Board. This is a part-time (0.4 FTE, 16 hours per week) permanent role that requires a special interest in paediatric physiotherapy.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the Musculoskeletal and Paediatric team across clinical specialties, providing assessment and management of a range of paediatric presentations, including non-ACC patients with persistent growth and development related musculoskeletal conditions, post-surgery rehabilitation, paediatric oncology patients, and neurological and rheumatological conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and manage paediatric presentations using detailed anatomical knowledge and musculoskeletal physiotherapy evidence
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure quality care is provided to children and their whanau
- Support quality improvement activities and contribute to service development
About You:
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Paediatric Rehabilitation Therapist who has excellent communication skills, planning and organisational abilities, and a good understanding of current management principles of chronic pain.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience working in Paediatrics, ideally in an outpatient setting
- Good understanding of current management principles of chronic pain
- Able to collaborate with the multidisciplinary team and support quality improvement activities
- Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing
