We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Addiction Specialist to join our multidisciplinary team at Te Whatu Ora - Capital, Coast & Hutt Valley District. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring collaborative care and supporting the medical development of our service.
The Consultant Addiction Specialist will work closely with case managers and other staff to provide high-quality medical care and support primary care providers and NGO partners. With a strong background in addiction medicine and a Fellowship in Addiction Speciality or FRANZCP, you will be responsible for liaising with other services and hospital departments as required.
Tūhonohono Addiction Services is a leading provider of community-based alcohol and drug services in Wellington, with a focus on delivering client-centred care. We are committed to working collaboratively with whānau and community connections to achieve the best outcomes for our patients.

About the Role
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality medical care.
- Liaise with primary care providers and NGO partners to ensure seamless care pathways.
- Support the medical development of Tūhonohono Addiction Services and contribute to strategic planning.
- Collaborate with other services and hospital departments to achieve shared goals.
About You
- Vocationally registered with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ).
- Hold a Fellowship in Addiction Speciality or FRANZCP.
- Able to provide consistently high standards of medical care.
- Relevant experience and training in addiction medicine.
