Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our Assets Team as an Asset Management Specialist - Water. This role will involve managing and coordinating new service applications and approved contractor management for water services.

About the Team:

  • The Assets Team is responsible for managing and maintaining Council's infrastructure, including water, wastewater, and stormwater networks.
  • The team works closely with other departments, including planning, engineering, and communications.
  • We are a dynamic and fast-paced team that values collaboration and innovation.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer applications for new connections to Council's water, wastewater, and stormwater networks.
  • Review applications for compliance and oversee the construction phase of new services.
  • Manage applications from approved contractors for water services endorsement.
  • Coordinate and manage asset repairs and the commissioning of new residential pressure sewer installations.
  • Monitor external resource consent notifications and review for potential impact on Council's infrastructural assets.
  • Provide administrative and field support for new developments and assist with environmental monitoring and drinking water compliance programs.

Skills and Qualifications:

You will be a confident communicator with a strong customer focus and the ability to build and foster strong internal and external stakeholder relationships. You will have at least three years' relevant experience, preferably in a compliance/engineering environment, and will hold relevant technical field support experience. You will have extensive knowledge of the Health & Safety at Work Act and the ability to manage non-compliance issues effectively.
