Te Whatu Ora, Health New Zealand, leads the day-to-day running of

Only 60 minutes and an easy commute from Christchurch, Ashburton
Hospital services the Mid-Canterbury Region, which is home to just over 30,000 people,
from the Rakaia River to the Rangitata River.
You will be part of a team of Rural Hospital Medical Specialists based
at Ashburton Hospital. In this role, you
will be liaising with Christchurch and Burwood Hospitals and providing support
to general practice teams within the Ashburton District.
In your down time, Ashburton is a great base for exploring
Canterbury with Mt Hutt ski field on 30 minutes away and the foothills for
amazing hiking and biking. Lake Hood
provides the perfect venue for boating, kayaking and paddle boarding.

We are
seeking a Rural Hospital Medical Specialist (0.8 FTE), or someone who has
comparable experience to join us in Ashburton.
In this role, you will be overseeing the Acute Assessment Unit and
managing your Teams' patients on the Wards.
Support of our RMOs is integral to this role. You will be involved in our RMO training
curriculum using our state-of-the-art Simulation Suite, leading training
sessions and supervising.
You will need to be eligible to gain registration
with the Medical Council of New Zealand, to find out more please follow this
