We are seeking a skilled Thai Chef to join our team at Jasmine Thai Cuisine Limited. As a Thai Chef, you will be responsible for creating delicious and innovative Thai dishes using seasonal ingredients while considering dietary restrictions and budget constraints.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create balanced and innovative menus using seasonal ingredients while considering dietary restrictions and budget constraints.
  • Review labor and food costs, organizing menus to stay within budget.
  • Ensure adequate stock levels and place orders for supplies.
  • Collaborate with management on plans for special events.
  • Handle equipment purchases and repairs as needed.
  • Inspect all ingredients and supplies to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Demonstrate cooking techniques and advise on procedures.
  • Consult with management to address issues and assist in developing solutions.
  • Ensure consistent food presentation.
  • Prepare and cook food according to specifications.
  • Maintain high standards of food hygiene compliance.
  • Accurately measure ingredients and portion sizes.
  • Manage deliveries while ensuring adherence to food hygiene standards.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3 years of related work experience OR
  • A minimum of NZ Register Level 4 qualification, which may substitute for experience (overseas qualifications must be comparable to the standard of the New Zealand qualification) OR
  • The National Skill Standard Testing Level 1 (Thai Cook or Thai Chef) from Thailand AND
  • Knowledge of Thai food ingredients.
Working Conditions:

This is a full-time and permanent position. Wage payment is $29.66 per hour and you will be paid weekly. Holiday pay and sick leave will be paid according to the law. You will be working at a busy restaurant with a guarantee of 30 hours (a maximum of 48 hours) per week.
