Clinical Lead Midwife

About the Role
The District Chief Midwife is a senior clinical leadership position based within the district, reporting directly to the Group Director of Operations (GDO) with a dotted professional line to the National Chief Midwife. This role requires a dynamic senior leader with relevant experience within the New Zealand Public Sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to transforming the future of health in this pivotal role
- Provide clinical leadership and guidance to midwives within the district
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to negotiate, resolve conflict, and positively influence and motivate others
- Problem-solving and system-thinking skills to effectively mitigate risks and issues
- Registered with the Midwifery Council in New Zealand with a current Midwifery APC
- At least 5 years relevant clinical leadership experience with evidence of ongoing personal, professional, and leadership development
- Vulnerable Children's Act (VCA) children's worker cleared
- Competency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
