**Responsibilities:**

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  1. Developing and maintaining key finance business partnering relationships with the senior leadership team.
  2. Ensuring accurate financial reporting (actuals, budgets and forecasts) and providing strategic insights to support leadership decisions.
  3. Leading end-to-end financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and capital planning.
  4. Providing high-quality, multi-year financial advice and reporting to guide strategic decision-making.
  5. Managing the audit of financial records, accounting practices, internal controls, and adherence to accounting principles.
  6. Providing procurement/contractual/commercial advice to ensure compliance with New Zealand Government Procurement rules and organisational policy.

**Requirements:**

  • Chartered Accountant qualification or an equivalent international standard.
  • Significant practical experience in finance, accounting or similar role in a Public Sector organisation.
  • Proven experience in finance business partnering, organisational reporting and stakeholder management.
  • Strong commercial acumen, analytical skills, and expertise in financial modelling.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in financial modelling, forecasting techniques and variance analysis.
