System Engineer for Radar Systems Integration

Job Description

The primary responsibility of this role is to support the installation, checkout, integration, and testing of Thales' radar systems onboard military platforms during project phase. This may involve working with overseas business units to perform mechanical installation and cabling works.

The candidate will participate in system interface and integration tests, set up the radar system, align and calibrate it, and conduct acceptance tests in harbour and performance tests at sea.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with overseas business line units to perform installation, checkout, integration, and testing of radar systems onboard vessels.
  • Participate in system interface and integration tests.
  • Setup the radar system, align, calibrate and perform checks to prepare for acceptance tests.
  • Conduct acceptance tests in harbour and performance tests at sea.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, candidates must have a diploma or degree in electrical and electronic engineering or a related discipline, with a minimum of 2-3 years' experience working on communication, surveillance, and sensors projects. Experience working on radar systems onboard vessels is preferred.

Candidates should possess knowledge of Linux systems, Wireshark tools, network security, and cybersecurity. Solid troubleshooting skills, problem-solving experience, and ability to work independently and collaboratively are also essential.

Familiarity with defence business and comfort working on different military platforms are necessary. Candidates must be willing to travel overseas occasionally for training and meetings and be able to perform software testing.
