">We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Customs Officer to join our team in Auckland. As a Senior Customs Officer Grade One, you will play a crucial role in protecting New Zealand's maritime border and ensuring the safety of our communities.
">Key Responsibilities
">- ">
- Facilitate cruise ship passenger arrivals and departures">
- Clear vessels and assess them for risk">
- Investigate suspicious activity and undertake targeted searches/interactions">
- Process passengers/crew and goods in/out of Aotearoa">
- Intercept contraband and investigate offences through sea and land patrol, surveillance and search activity">
- Conduct and lead operational activity within the Port and Maritime environments">
About You
">We are looking for an individual who is able to build rapport with a wide range of people and has a strong commitment to developing themselves and others.
">Required Skills and Qualifications
">- ">
- Ability to coach and mentor others">
- Knowledge of risks to the border and ability to understand and interpret legislation relevant to Customs work">
- Problem-solving capability, including the ability to identify, manage or mitigate risks and consider innovative solutions">
- Able to work flexible hours and travel at short notice">
- Hold a national security clearance or have the ability to obtain one">
- Hold a full NZ Drivers' licence">
- Be physically fit and able to undertake the full range of duties">
