About the Job

We are seeking a Community Water Specialist to join our team at Tararua District Council.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that water schemes comply with resource consent conditions and drinking water quality assurance rules.

This role requires you to develop competency in water treatment processes and operations to support the Water Treatment Operations Team.

You will also be expected to operate and maintain water treatment facilities to ensure they operate efficiently and with no loss of service to the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to improve water treatment processes and operations
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
  • Work collaboratively with the Water Treatment Operations Team to achieve common goals
  • Monitor and report on water quality and treatment process performance

Requirements:

  • Certified or qualified in a relevant field (e.g. water treatment, environmental science)
  • Current NZ Driver's Licence
  • Ability to work proactively and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
