Clinical Lead Nurse Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to lead our Acute Response Team as a Clinical Lead Nurse Specialist.

About the Role

The Acute Response Team provides urgent responses to mental health crises. As a Clinical Lead Nurse Specialist, you will contribute to nursing knowledge and skills in assessment, planning, and delivery of care, aligning with Te Ara Tauwhirotanga (Model of Care for Mental Health and Addiction Services) and the Mental Health & Addiction (MH&A) Nursing Strategy principles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate safe, quality nursing practice that is evidence-based and reflects best practices.
  • Lead and work on Quality Improvement Projects/Initiatives to ensure better outcomes for clients.
  • Provide advanced assessment and support staff managing complex care needs in a community setting.
  • Undertake audits to identify gaps and improve practice.
  • Engage in contemporary practice and quality initiatives for improved outcomes.
  • Achieve improved outcomes for Māori accessing care.

About You

To be successful, you must be a New Zealand Registered nurse eligible to work in Mental Health with a current APC and at least 5 years post-graduate experience in an acute mental health setting.
