Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Sewing Tutor to lead engaging and practical sewing sessions for our participants.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach basic to advanced sewing techniques to students
  • Assist students in learning how to use sewing machines and hand-sewing techniques
  • Create lesson plans and projects suitable for different skill levels
  • Encourage creativity and confidence in students
  • Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment
  • Support community events by contributing to textile-related projects

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in sewing, including machine and hand sewing
  • Experience in teaching or mentoring (preferred but not required)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Passion for skill-sharing and community development
  • A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role
