The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Advisor – Investment to join our team. As a key member of this team, you will be responsible for undertaking a baseline review of investment across the family violence and sexual violence system. This will involve designing and managing the process; assisting with analysis of information; providing advice to Managers and senior leaders; and pro-actively managing risks and issues to deliver this high profile and important work.

Your Key Responsibilities
As a Principal Advisor – Investment, you will be responsible for:

  • Undertaking a baseline review of investment across the family violence and sexual violence system.
  • Designing and managing the process to gather and analyse data on current investments and outcomes.
  • Providing advice to Managers and senior leaders on investment strategies and options.
  • Assisting with the development of recommendations for future investment and resource allocation.
  • Managing risks and issues associated with the project.

Your Ideal Candidate
To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A minimum of 6 years senior public sector experience with experience in large scale investments and budget initiatives.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Applied understanding of New Zealand government budget and treasury processes.
  • Experience of developing funding strategies and budget bids.
  • Financial analysis skills e.g. cost modelling, economic analysis and modelling.
  • Knowledge of a social investment approach.
  • Sound planning and organisation, including the ability to prioritise activities and plan to deliver critical milestones.
  • Ability to actively manage dependencies, risks and issues.
  • Ability to translate complex information into simple understandable concepts to enable effective decision making.
  • Preparation of reports and advice to senior leaders and Ministers.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • An awareness and/or understanding of family violence and sexual violence.
