**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled Wildlife Technician to join our team at the Wildbase Hospital in Palmerston North. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care to New Zealand native species and contributing to their rehabilitation and release back into the wild.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide hospital, nursing, and rehabilitation care to patients across the Wildbase Hospital and Recovery facilities.
  • Assist with the maintenance of the native wildlife pathology service in collaboration with the Department of Conservation and oiled wildlife emergency response developed in partnership with Maritime New Zealand.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a small team to ensure seamless patient care and efficient hospital operations.

Requirements:

  • A degree or diploma in veterinary nursing or veterinary technology - essential.
  • Basic IT skills and excellent communication skills.
  • A current driver's license and willingness to work flexible hours.
  • Demonstrated interest in avian health, conservation management, or wildlife husbandry.
