At Tangram, we are seeking an exceptional individual to lead our research initiatives in lightweight, high-power, fully superconducting motors, rotating machines, magnetic levitation, magnet systems, and brushless exciters.
About the Role- This is a senior appointment that combines academic duties with leadership and entrepreneurship responsibilities.
The successful candidate will have an international reputation for leading large & complex research programmes, a demonstrated ability to perform at a strategic level, and a strong track record of research achievement.
We are looking for someone who can drive forward and grow our Engineering research and development activities, leveraging their expertise to build new research areas and collaborate with internal and external partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership for research initiatives in electromagnetism and materials science/engineering.
- Develop and implement innovative research plans to drive growth and impact.
- Mentor junior researchers and engineers, supervise post-graduate students, and contribute to the collaborative environment.
Requirements
- PhD in a relevant field and extensive experience in research leadership.
- Proven record of success in leading complex research programmes and supervising junior researchers.
- Demonstrated ability to work closely with collaborators from multiple partner organisations.
