Chatham University's Immersive Media program is an interdisciplinary program that equips students with knowledge of design thinking, computer programming, interactive game design technology, creative methods, and cutting-edge hardware to create immersive experiences for a variety of applications and industries.

Job Description

This adjunct position will cover teaching classes in introduction to game design, human-centered design, integrated design research, and immersive media studio courses from introductory to advanced levels. We welcome adjunct faculty who will collaborate on course development for the Immersive Media program curriculum, as the field is constantly evolving.

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses in immersive media, including introductory and advanced levels.
  • Collaborate with other Immersive Media faculty to provide project support, student feedback, and enable collaborative opportunities for students.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and university trainings for adjunct faculty.

Qualifications

  • Have or show potential for collaborative interdisciplinary immersive design work and/or research practices using immersive technology to solve difficult problems.
  • Practical experience outside of academia (i.e. with a game development studio, design consultancy, or other company focused on immersive or relevant projects).

Preferred Qualifications

  • A master's degree or doctorate degree is encouraged.
  • Exceptions can be made with appropriate industry experience.
