Abi Rehabilitation New Zealand is a leading provider of post-acute, residential, and community-based rehabilitation for clients with multi-trauma, concussion, and traumatic brain injury.

We link with our TBI inpatient facility to provide seamless transition for clients returning to living and working in the community.

We see our clients at home, workplace, school, and clinic-based settings. Our focus is on providing hands-on, practical assessment and intervention in a community setting.

We have a strong client and family/whanau focus, applying the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi through the implementation of Te Hekenga-a-ora (Abi's Maori Development Plan 2022-2025) to ensure equitable outcomes.

**Job Description**

This role involves delivering rehabilitation through supporting clients who have sustained a brain injury to regain independence in a community setting.

You will work as an integral part of our interdisciplinary team, including medical specialists, Paediatrician, neuropsychologists, SALT, PT's and Kaiarahi Maori.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing hands-on, practical assessment and intervention in a community setting
  • Working collaboratively with clients and their families to develop and implement individualized rehabilitation plans
  • Maintaining accurate records and reports, and contributing to the development of evidence-based practice guidelines
**Required Skills and Qualifications**

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution
  • Registration with the OT Board of New Zealand
  • At least two years' experience working with clients with neurological injuries
  • Experience in community rehabilitation, brain injury rehabilitation, concussion service delivery, or vocational rehabilitation would be highly desirable
