Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Research Assistant to join our Maori Health research team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting the development and implementation of research projects that aim to improve health outcomes for Maori and other priority populations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collections and management of hospital data with WHIRI databases
  • Cleaning and preparing data for analysis
  • Engagement with stakeholders to ensure data relevance for Maori communities, funders, and aligns with Te Pae Tata Interim New Zealand Health Plan 2022
  • Contribution towards report writing and/or academic publication

About the Team

The Maori Health Rangahau/Research team is part of Te Puna Oranga (Maori Health Service) at Waikato Hospital. Our goals include engaging in Kaupapa Maori research & evaluation, contributing towards opportunities for funding & scholarships, support & linking in Maori & Indigenous research and networks, building workforce development, and developing innovative solutions based on research.
