We're seeking a seasoned Executive Director-level professional to lead our Corporate Advisory Practice in New Zealand. This high-profile role involves collaborating with top-notch colleagues and driving business growth through exceptional client relationships.

About the Opportunity

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in M&A, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate broking. As part of our high-performing team, you'll engage at a senior level with clients from private equity firms and corporate businesses, providing expert guidance and support throughout the process.

  • Manage significant M&A projects, read and check sale and purchase agreements, negotiate policy terms, and produce detailed reports.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with C-suite executives, identifying new income opportunities and bringing on-board new projects within existing client portfolios.
  • Liaise with underwriters and internal stakeholders to deliver optimized go-to-market strategies, drafting and proof-reading high-quality reports as needed.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to team members, promoting a culture of excellence and professionalism.

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A law degree and legal background with substantial focus on M&A.
  • Experience with corporate taxation (highly valued but not required).
  • Outstanding client management capabilities, including attracting, retaining, and growing clients.
  • A keen entrepreneurial spirit and flair for business development.
  • Analytical abilities and experience drafting proposals and documentation.
  • High self-motivation, ownership, and accountability for project development and execution.
