Welcome to Healthcare of New Zealand, a leading organisation in disability support services. We are currently seeking an experienced Positive Behaviour Support Planner to join our team.

Job Description:

This is a part-time role based in Palmerston North, with 20 hours per week worked from Monday to Thursday (5 hours per day). As a Positive Behaviour Support Planner, you will be responsible for providing coaching, resources, and on-the-spot observations to our service team to better the lives of people with disabilities.

  • You will assist in the development and implementation of safety plans and behaviour support plans as required.
  • You will engage with individuals, their family/whānau, and support networks to ensure their safety and quality of life is improved.
  • You will work closely with Service Delivery colleagues to provide integrated disability and healthcare services.
Requirements:
  • Minimum three years' experience within disability, mental health, or education with a strong understanding of the sector.
  • Experience working with those who display challenging behaviour, including intellectual disability, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), etc.
  • An understanding of Empowering Girls and Leadership (EGL) principles.
  • Previous knowledge and training on Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) principles preferable but for the right candidate we will support them to undergo BILD PBS training.
  • A professional, passionate attitude and you value constant training, guidance, and teamwork.
