Main Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with managers to provide support for Kaupapa Maori supervision
  • Ensure effective implementation of Kaupapa Maori elements in programs
  • Advise the Psychology and Programmes National Office teams on Te Ao Maori methodologies
  • Guide program design and practice to achieve positive outcomes for Maori
  • Undergo training in Te Ara Tauwhaiti (Kaupapa Maori cultural supervision framework) and engage in Kaupapa Maori supervision
  • Co-facilitate training programs
  • Navigate Kaupapa Maori models and frameworks proficiently
  • Support special projects related to Kaupapa Maori Practice development
  • Complete administrative tasks such as report writing within agreed timeframes

Requirements

  • Demonstrate innovation, critical thinking, and leadership abilities
  • Utilise extensive experience or training in program facilitation, Maori cultural supervision, counselling, social work, or a related social service field
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Show a solid understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application to Kaupapa Maori Practice
  • Leverage deep knowledge of Maori issues, Te Ao Maori, matauranga Maori, and Tikanga Maori
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
