The Medical Council of New Zealand (the Council) is the regulator for doctors, aiming to have a medical profession that all New Zealanders can trust. They protect and promote public health and safety in New Zealand by registering doctors to practise medicine in New Zealand and supporting doctors to practise medicine safely.

About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and highly organised individual to join the Council as a Professional Standards Adviser. This role is part of a high performing and collaborative team that focuses on the Council's obligations to protect the public by ensuring doctors are fit to practise.

Key Responsibilities
As a case manager, you will be responsible for a varied and interesting workload covering conduct and competence notifications relating to doctors that are referred to the Council. You also have the opportunity to identify improvements for the team, as they continuously look to identify smarter ways of working.

Requirements
To be successful in the role, you will need well-developed business writing and communication skills, previous case management experience, strong verbal and presentation skills, excellent relationship management skills, and the maturity to handle sensitive subject matter. Experience in a legal or regulatory role is favourable but not essential. Experience in the health sector or familiarity with the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003 would be advantageous.
