Job Overview

Oranga Tamariki—Ministry for Children is seeking a dedicated professional to join our team as a Social Worker.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Social Worker to fill a permanent position in our Intake and Assessment Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing reports of concerns, completing initial visits to families and children, interviewing children, and working closely with community stakeholders, Iwi, and Police.

The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to strength-based practice, a passion for working with children and youth, and the ability to build relationships to help provide positive outcomes. You will also need to have a strong understanding of Te Ao Māori and indigenous models of practice.

This role requires a full clean driver's licence and the ability to work as part of a team, particularly in stressful situations.
