About this Role:
We are seeking an experienced Regulatory Compliance Specialist to join our Capability team responsible for Auckland Council's Building Consent Authority competency assessments, technical audits, and specialist functions such as the development of technical training material and training development plans.

The Ideal Candidate:
This role requires a highly developed analytical skillset and the ability to evaluate competency assessment evidence to prescribed levels. You will also have significant experience in building-related regulatory services (processing consent applications or conducting competency assessments), good process orientation with an ability to apply sound judgment and decision-making skills to promote continued business improvement, and computer literacy skills visible through the production of reports, monitoring and reviewing of statistical information, and research of applications.

Main Responsibilities:
- Conduct technical audits of consents processed by staff and contractors
- Perform Competency Assessments on technical staff against the National Competency Assessment Framework (NCAS)
- Identify training needs from analysing audit results, competency assessment outcomes and staff feedback
